The 2 Week Jumpstart Program By Amber Dodzweit

The first time I had ever heard of Amber Dodzweit was in a blog post by Kerri Olkjer of Fitviews.  She reviewed Amber's Built For Her program as part of her efforts to get back in shape post pregnancy.  Long story short, she loved it.  I started following Amber on Instagram and really liked her positive Christian based message but I knew I was not ready to tackle something as intense as Built For Her.  For the most part, her programs seem geared to people already working out and I was looking for something a little closer to "COMA to 5k."

A few months later, Amber created the 2 Week Jumpstart Program for herself as sort of a post wedding boot camp.  It was billed as a "no gym needed, quick workout, simple nutrition, lose fat & build lean muscle, detoxify and get back on track program.'  I saw it a few days before Thanksgiving and purchased it on the spot.  I was ready for something quick, effective, and simple to get myself in gear INSTEAD of falling face first into Thanksgiving leftovers with a segue into Christmas cookies.  I used it as an intervention to help build some good habits before the new year.

I started the 2 Week Jumpstart Program two days after Thanksgiving.  I was feeling beyond bloated  and ready for whatever was to come.  Famous last words, right?  Actually, it was fine.  Amber starts the first few days of the program by guiding you through a gentle but effect cleanse and detox.  The nutrition was solid yet still affordable.  No weird foods, just good clean ingredients.  I could still eat carbs, I could still drink wine, and I could still live my life.  Sure, there were some rules (which I will continue to implement because they are really effective) and yes, some days it was hard but I never went hungry and never got hangry.

As far as the workouts are concerned, I loved them.....and I don't like to exercise.  First of all, they never took more than 20 to 30 minutes but I was a sweaty puddle after each one.  My heart rate was up there (we're talking zones 3 through 5) and my muscles were put to the test.  Seriously, there were a couple of days I thought my arms might fall off and I know my legs were replaced with jelly. Thankfully, just when I thought I could NOT do another squat, I'd turn the page and the following day would be REST DAY or YOGA or at least it was a body part that had started to work again.  It was by far one of the best laid out plans I had ever attempted.

My favorite part of the program was that it comes with accessibility to Amber herself.  I had a few questions and she emailed me back every time.  She was always so encouraging and positive.  She has a passion for her work and truly wants her "athletes" to succeed.  I've never considered myself an athlete but after this two week program, I can see all sorts of baby muscles. I think that maybe some day I could be an athlete.  Slow and sarcastic about it, but still an athlete.  I'll continue to use the 2 Week Jumpstart workouts and get better at them and then try something harder.

As far as my results, I lost about 7 pounds.  I didn't take measurements but I did take pictures and while I am not one to post pictures of myself on the internet in my underwear (bygones plus also you're welcome) I can say for certain that everything was tighter, higher, and smaller.  What more could a 40 something woman ask for in two weeks?

So, if you are looking for something to kick yourself into gear after the holidays, I highly recommend Amber Dodzweit's 2 Week Jumpstart.  It was a fantastic early Christmas gift to myself that will pay dividends throughout the holiday season and beyond.

This is not a sponsored post.  I paid for the program myself.
